Consulting

A key element of the Supply Chain Innovation Program™ is Cayuga Partners' Consulting services. Executives and managers receive in-depth knowledge transfer from our supply chain experts. Advanced planning and execution strategies are illustrated, explained, tailored and implemented using a four-step methodology. This offering is exceptional due to the credentials of our executive consulting team, and the unique tools used to help you question, learn and execute. To ensure sustained success, a continuous improvement ideology must be embraced.

A Four-Step Methodology

Step One: Strategy sessions establish a set of Guiding Principles. A fundamental set of systemic “laws” that govern the behavior of all supply chains and the Guiding Principles for effective supply chain management are learned, establishing the basis for future planning and operations. A study is conducted to explore the relationships, interactions, and consequences of your company's current strategies, operational objectives, metrics and policies. The sources and impact of uncertainty on supply chain performance are evaluated to broadly identify opportunities, assess the business case, and develop a consensus for program adoption.

Step Two: A Supply Chain Audit separates fact from fiction. Detailed operating data are gathered and analyzed to benchmark current practices. Demand patterns are investigated to remove the mystery behind unanticipated customer order behaviors, and to discover underlying materials management policies. Cayuga Partners' Supply Chain Model rapidly optimizes and simulates supply chain strategies and scenarios. “Disconnects” between your current operating environment and the Guiding Principles are identified, revealing opportunities for performance improvement. The economic and competitive value of these improvements is quantified and prioritized, the ROI calculated, and a business plan is developed for implementation.

Step Three: The Pilot Implementation turns ideas into reality.
Change is difficult. Supply chain transformation projects are especially challenging, and require extensive communication and convincing. A successful pilot project proves the value of new ideas and wins buy-in from your organization. To achieve this, the Supply Chain Model identifies suitable opportunities, establishing baseline metrics against which progress can be accurately measured. A practical plan that challenges and educates your company's supply chain team members is realized.

Step Four: Continuous Improvement: “Educate, Simulate and Innovate”. An ongoing program for sustainable supply chain innovation creates a learning environment to constantly challenge your supply chain team, and empower them to grow professionally. A performance measurement system that respects the systemic laws governing supply chain dynamics is established to balance key trade-offs. Improvements are monitored and revised on an ongoing basis to prevent a return to the status quo, and to quickly capitalize on emerging opportunities.

Supply chain transformation is a dynamic and complex endeavor that must be continually reinforced to achieve operational excellence and long-term competitive advantage. Because of this, client relationships are at the heart of Cayuga Partners' business. Our ongoing coaching and mentoring ensure the effectiveness of your supply chain strategy - and the management team responsible for executing it - as your business needs change and evolve.
